Shared Experiences Bring You Closer Together

A night under the stars

What would a night under the stars sound like, floating among the trees in a Tentsile tree tent, in a private wilderness destination reserved only for you. At the top of the hill, you stay overnight in a Tentsile Stingray, suspended in mid-air between the trees, where you can snuggle up in the warmth of your sleeping bag in the evening. On a clear evening you can watch from your sleeping bag, behind a translucent insect net, as the sun sets on the headland in front of the Kymijoki River, the summer winds rocking the treetops to sleep.

At the end of a winding road

Hattarniemi lies on the banks of the Kymijoki River, on the border between Uusimaa and Kymenlaakso. The wilderness site is just a few kilometres, but an unpaved path from the idyllic potted village of Strömfors and surrounded by stunning kayaking routes. It is accessible by canoe in summer and by skiing in winter. There is also a shorter hiking trail to Hattarniemi, which leads from the end of a small forest road through a mossy old spruce forest.

A low-threshold adventure

Even though the Hattarniemi wilderness site is just behind the road, in the peace of nature at the side of the Hattarkoski pike perch fishing spot, in a place that has that certain nature adventure feeling, you are not completely at the mercy of nature - the tent is set up for you, there are toilet papers in the wooden stove, a soup pot, a spinning wheel and brazier and a pile of dry wood at the fireplace.

It's also great for family adventures

The Hattarniemi wilderness area is also suitable for family adventures - the canoe trip to Hattarniemi is beautiful and peaceful, less than an hour long and without any whirlpools. You can also reach the tip of the peninsula by land, following a marked hiking trail of about half a kilometre through moss forest from the end of a small forest road. For the curious, there are plenty of blueberries to pick in the sparse and bright woodland at the tip of the peninsula, stone burrows and rabbit tracks to explore and, come evening, you can even try your hand at fishing in the best pike spot in the region. You can also put a couple of tents side by side so the youngters have its own nest and perhaps a little bit of extra adventurousness, like a seed for the stories to come.

Bachelor parties or team days?

The Hattarniemi camp is also a good destination for a group of friends to share a wilderness experience, as well as a nature destination for team days - we make various activity packages for groups at Hattarniemi, from singing bowl exercises to nature yoga and amusing team tasks with teams competing in playful brain-nuts that require knowledge, skills and a bit of luck - with or without wilderness food. In the privacy of a private wilderness destination, it's nice to take a break from everyday life in the middle of nature.
